"I can't tell you how amazing everyone at the Princeton SOR has been to us. The SOR was the one place that never got angry with our son for not meeting his potential - school has been a miserable experience for him because he tests really well but doesn't do homework and has an incredibly difficult time just getting into that school building. His guidance counselor said "We really don't know how to help a kid like Will". And it made me think what is it about the SOR that is so different. One thing I realized is at Princeton SOR, every kid knows that there are adults there that have their back - the show director, their instructor. Kids go to high school and I think, they don't feel like there is someone in the school that will always have their back. Like my son said a few years ago, "School of Rock is the least judgemental place in the world, you could walk in there with a dress on and they would say, Hey, cool, where did you get that." (I was trying to get him to wear a new pair of shoes that he had decided were a little too unusual for him to wear to school, so I said wear them to rehearsal tonight).
The only place we haven't had to push him out the door to get to is the School of Rock. He wasn't always on time, but he got himself there. We can't thank you enough!"
