Performance Program

The Ultimate Performance Based Music Instruction. School of Rock Offers Music Lessons for Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced musicians

The Performance Program is designed for kids who know the basics of how to play their instrument and are ready to take it to the stage. This program introduces the team element into music instruction. Students will learn harmonies, musicianship and how to perform in an authentic rock show environment.

Each season, students spend time honing their music skills while preparing to perform some of the greatest songs in rock and roll history. Your parents or other family members may have instilled the love of rock and roll in you. Now you’ve gotten good enough with the basics of your instrument to put that practice into bolstering your performance chops with other musicians.

As 2015 unfolds, this is the year to make it all come together by bringing what you’ve got to the group dynamic while performing classic rock as well as soon to be classic rock from groups like AC/DC, Foo Fighters and the Rolling Stones among many others. Every season we put together new shows with killer set lists that will include tunes that made rock and roll a phenomenon on both sides of the pond in the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, 80’s and 90’s.

It’s now an unstoppable worldwide force for cultural change that each successive generation makes their own. Who knows; after standing on the shoulders of the greats of rock and roll in our performance program, you may write the next great rock and roll anthem that defines the next stage of the twenty first century.

You’ve learned more than the basics of your instrument and how to listen to yourself, hopefully through our Rock 101 classes and/or private lessons at the Princeton School of Rock in Hamilton Township, New Jersey. Our performance program takes you to the next level where you learn to listen to others in a band setting.

Knowing when to play in the pocket, in front of or behind the beat to make a rock classic overflow with new and present energy is something you just can’t learn in any other setting than through band rehearsals and the crucible of performance. By the way, if you haven’t heard those terms before, you likely haven’t been in on the rock and roll learning experiences that are part of the fabric of School of Rock.

All student musicians enrolled in our Performance Program will receive:

  • Weekly private music lesson on guitar, bass guitar, keyboards, drums and/or vocals
  • Weekly three-hour band rehearsal to prepare for the rock concert
  • Enhanced learning in key areas such as stage performance, harmonies, musicianship and more

We have a choice of new show themes every season so you’re sure to be playing rock and roll that gives you a thrill—all under the expert guidance and music instruction from our seasoned staff of instructors that have been there and back again.

It takes a lot of energy, dedication and practice to be able to play well with authority, stay in tune, and in time handle your harmonies as well as your instrument. Doing all that while putting on a memorable show where the audience knows you’re feeling it is what separates the poseurs from the rockers. Give us a call at the School of Rock in Hamilton, NJ 08619 and we’ll clue you in on how to be a part of that action via our 2015 Performance Program.
